My New Website (V.2) - Finding My Coaching Voice

When I first started my freelance coaching business, I struggled to describe how I worked.

I knew the right words — systemic, client-led, transformational — but when I used them, they felt hollow, like I was reciting someone else’s language. Deep down, I didn’t yet have a felt sense of what coaching truly meant to me.

When I built my very first website, my strategy was simple: keep it broad, keep it vague. I didn’t know exactly who I wanted to work with, so I tried to appeal to everyone. Looking back, that was an honest reflection of where I was at the time — still doubting myself, still questioning what I had to offer.

And that’s okay. It was part of the process.

Learning to Show Up Fully

Today, I feel proud of my new website — not just because of the work I put into it, but because it finally feels like me.

It weaves together different threads of my life that haven’t always sat comfortably side by side.

One example: my spiritual journey. For years, I kept this part of myself quiet, even though it deeply shapes who I am and how I coach. Even as I write this now, I notice that little voice in my head whispering:

“Careful how you frame this. What if people misunderstand?”

The truth is, when we speak honestly about who we are, we risk rejection.

Some people will visit my site and think, “Not for me.” And that’s actually a good thing. My coaching isn’t for everyone — and it doesn’t need to be. There’s a coach out there for everyone.

Trusting My Gut

As I’ve grown more confident, I’ve learned to notice the subtle signals that tell me when there’s true alignment — and when there isn’t.

When a client isn’t a good fit, coaching feels heavy. I find myself leaning on tools and structures rather than trusting the natural flow of the conversation. It becomes mechanical instead of alive.

Over time, I’ve come to trust my gut and be upfront about my approach. Now, I tell potential clients that my coaching is:

  • Focused on potential, not rigid goals

  • Unstructured and intuitive, open to the unknown

  • Rooted in depth and presence — trusting that less can be more

  • A space for emergence, where outcomes unfold naturally, often in surprising ways

Since sharing this openly, something has shifted. The people who reach out to me tend to be looking for exactly this kind of work. And when that alignment is there, the coaching becomes lighter, freer, and profoundly impactful.

I’ve come to love the metaphor of the coach as midwife — someone who simply holds space and supports a natural process of emergence. When the connection between coach and client is strong, something new and authentic can be born.
